I have a 1927 Bacon and Day silver bell Montana special that I would not trade for any in the world. It came to Me in like new condition and plays like a dream. They are some of the BEST ! Banjos ever made in My opinion. Sincerely, Dave Mullen

I love my Paragon, but I recently acquired a 1925 B&D 17 fret Super A with an internal resonator which I don't think is original, but I often play it open-backed, and it sounds great, I'll post some pictures tomorrow

I just ran across a banjo that just said  BACON        and perhaps a model name

  like Super or something like that.......  was from  1920's   per the  tag on it....

    Would this be a 'relative' of the  B & D's ????

yes, probably. I think Bacon was used as the name even after Day joined the company, although I'm not certain.

You are right Harry.it stayed Bacon until after the 1928 flood in Groton Ct. At which time Ephaphone bought them out but still used the Bacon name for a while.

Thanks Harry & David, a couple head brackets were loose, but over all it looked good...
