I've been playing for about 3 years now after changing from guitar to tenor banjo, I'm gonna still get the tutor as Mike Keyes recommends it for beginers and intermediates alike hopefully help iron out a few bad habits and improve all round, Enda is such a nice guy as well all ways willing to give his time for advice.

Hi everyone, I had been playing the banjo for around five years and thought I was doing quite well until I got Enda's tutor book. I have gone right back to basics and now the tunes that I have been playing for years sound so much better. I was not playing with the correct picking patterns. The tutor is excellent for new and experienced players alike. Thanks Enda

Rob, what key is the example in? If the F of that key is usually a sharp, then an F natural (an accidental) would be notated with a flat sign in the score. Maybe that's what he did.

Love that banjo he's got in the photograph!

I may have to buy that tutor. I could use all the help I can get. :-)

"but I haven't got a tenor banjo yet, so haven't got very far"

Well Rob, you could always practice on a Cardboard Banjo, while you are waiting! ;-)

Congratulations, indeed.

I have Enda's tutor - got it a week or two ago - but I haven't got a tenor banjo yet, so haven't got very far ;-) but I haven't played any wrong notes either. So it must be a good tutor!

I did notice one curious typo - page 30, the musical example at the bottom of the page where he discusses an F natural but signifies it both in the score and beneath the note as an F flat. Didn't you have a natural sign, Enda? I can't really call it a typo as it keeps happening on the next page. We all know what is intended, but it doesn't look like your software programme has a natural sign. On the other hand, looking ahead to the pieces, there is use of the natural sign. Que passa, amigo?

Otherwise it all looks grand. Anyone else working through the book?
