I just bought a Slingerland 17 fret for my partner for her birthday - really light and easy to play as well as gorgeous looking with the birds eye maple pot and resonator. Delighted with it, cost about €400. It has a lovely soft voice,

Hey Lesley, I was very lucky with my banjo; Slingerlands weren't considered as professional instruments so some are in pretty poor condition. Mine was set up by Andy Perkins at the banjo workshop and I've done a bit more work on the bridge to get it just right for me.
The most important adjustments are action height and intonation for correct tuning, the are some great guides on this site and Youtube.
Best of luck with yours.

I have a 1920's Slingerland banjo-uke in beautiful condition - I love it - I'm a total beginner to tenor banjothough,  and still ironing out little problems getting mine, a second-hand Swift, ready to play! I've never seen a Slingerland tenor.

I've got a nice little Slingerland short neck that I found in a pawn shop here in Chicago for $30.00. I've found them

online here in the states but they don't seem to go above maybe two or three hundred dollars.

Hi Paddy,

A lot of the Slingerlands I've seen have been in pretty poor condition so you might have to hunt around for a good one. Mine was around £600 and is in fantastic condition and plays really well.

How much are Slingerland worth

Yep :-)

I have a Slingerland Concertone (similar to a Vega Little Wonder), and recently also got my hands on a Maybell.  I'll post photos at some point...
